Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Prepare a loaf pan by greasing it with nonstick spray or lining it with parchment paper.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar by sifting them together into a medium bowl.
- Add the vanilla, sweetened condensed milk, milk, beaten egg, and melted butter to the dry mixture. Stir until the batter is just combined.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, setting aside about ½ cup of batter for the chocolate portion.
Marbling and Baking
- Mix the cocoa powder into the reserved ½ cup of batter until evenly combined.
- Spread the chocolate batter over the plain batter in the loaf pan, then use the tip of a knife to create an S-shaped swirl pattern throughout the batter.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Serving
- Slice the loaf and serve with butter or jam if desired, or enjoy with coffee.
Notes
Allow the loaf to bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean for a properly set crumb.
