Ingredients

Dough
  • half of this batch of dough or any other pizza dough
Cinnamon Sugar
  • cinnamon sugar, to taste
Streusel Topping
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Maple Glaze
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon real maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Generously coat a round cake pan with oil. Place the dough in the pan and press it outward so it reaches toward the edges and slightly climbs the sides. Sprinkle a light layer of cinnamon sugar over the dough.
  2. Add the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, butter, and olive oil to a food processor and pulse until crumb pieces form. Alternatively, mix with your hands to create the crumbs. Scatter the streusel evenly over the unbaked crust.
Baking
  1. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the crust and topping are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let the pizza cool slightly.
Glaze and Serving
  1. Whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and cream. Adjust the glaze consistency with a small amount of extra water or milk if needed.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the warm pizza, cut into wedges, and serve.

Notes

The original recipe used half of a cinnamon swirl bread dough batch for the crust, but store bought dough rolled into a circle also works well. Adjust the dough amount based on the preferred crust thickness. Use canola oil instead of olive oil if you prefer a more neutral flavor.
