Ingredients

  • 7-8 apples (any kind works)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 cup water

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut the apples into chunks and remove the cores. Add the prepared apples to the Instant Pot.
  2. Place the cinnamon sticks and water into the pot with the apples.
Cooking
  1. Cook the apples on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  2. Allow the pot to rest for 10 minutes before releasing the steam.
  3. Use an immersion blender to break down the cooked apples, alternating with gentle mashing until the desired texture is reached.
Serving
  1. Serve the homemade applesauce once the texture is adjusted to your preference.

Notes

Avoid blending for too long if you prefer a more textured applesauce. Blend only enough to break up larger pieces of peel, then use gentle mashing to finish the texture. The applesauce can also be mashed without blending, or the apples can be peeled before cooking for a smoother result.
