Ingredients
  

  • 12 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • cinnamon to taste, or red hot candies

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces, then place the prepared apples in a pot.
  2. Pour the water into the pot and bring the mixture to a low boil over medium heat while mashing the apples as they soften. Keep the pot covered during cooking.
  3. Once the apples reach the desired consistency, stir in the sugar, cinnamon and/or red hot candies. Bring the mixture back to a boil, cover the pot again, and remove it from the heat.
  4. Allow the applesauce to cool in the pot before refrigerating.

Notes

Mash the cooked apples to reach your preferred applesauce texture.
